you could evidence a lot about a guy rope ground on his preparation .

Welcome back to another episode ofPlate to Date. You know the drill: A hungry single comes in, samples three identical dishes, and picks their favorite. The prize? A date with the amateur chef behind the winning dish.

In thisepisode, three eligible bachelors are making the Korean treat tteokbokki. Savory, spicy, and a little sweet, it’s a dish that’ll bring instant joy to anyone’s day.

Now, our judge, Blue, is certainly no tteokbokki amateur, as she herself used to make the dish with her appa.

With this treat attached to childhood nostalgia, will the guys have what it takes to impress our tteokbokki aficionado? Let’s find out.

Matthew is first in line for judgment. Although the main ingredients for his tteokbokki are pepper paste, anchovy water, garlic, and green onions, his is also made with “son-mat,” a Korean phrase that literally translates to “taste of hand,” or the amount of care you put into the dish. In other words, his is made with love.

Now for the taste test! From the get-go, Matthew’s dish falls flat like a bowl of lukewarm ramen. Blue’s immediate reaction is a blow to the ego: “There’s not a lot of flavor" — which, of course, is a cardinal sin in Asian cuisine.

Perhaps dish number two will fare better? We’ll see…

Tyler, our second contender, aims to impress with his protein-rich version, to which our judge immediately takes notice…but not in a good way: “This guy doesn’t like vegetables. There’s no herbs. There’s no scallions, which is such a bummer. He would be the type to throw a fit when he was younger if his mom made him eat a vegetable.”

Ouch! Not the best first impression, but surely his dish hassomeredeeming qualities…right?

Sike! She hated it. Let’s see if our third contender can impress our judge.

Unlike the first two singles, Leo made not one, not two, butthreedishes — tteokbokki and two appetizers. Ever the thoughtful one, Leo also cut his tteokbokki into heart-shaped pieces, just for the occasion. What a sweetie.

All this attention to detail definitely isn’t going unnoticed. Blue is immediately impressed, some might even say wooed, so taken is she by Leo’s side dishes and touched by his effort in making her favorite dish (the tteokbokki) while introducing her to his (the fish cake skewers).

Blue’s final thoughts are certainly promising: “This is a really fun experience, whereas the other two, they like to play it safe. This guy’s a risk-taker.”

So, which dish wins Blue’s heart and her taste buds? Drumroll, please…

To no one’s surprise, it’s Leo’s, which means the two will be going on a date! Woo-hoo!

What about you? Which dish was your winner?
