Amandla Stenberg’s reaction to receiving aStar Warswelcome message fromHayden Christensenis too pure for words.
Amandla stars in the franchise’s latest series for Disney+ calledThe Acolyte(also known asStar Wars: The Acolyte). She plays the lead roles of Osha and Mae — twin sisters who were separated when they were really young. Osha is a former Padawan learner, while Mae was originally presumed dead until she returned as a dangerous warrior.
It’s a prequel set 100 years before the events that took place inStar Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace.
Well, as if she wasn’t already excited to premiere the new show, Amandla was surprised with a video message fromStar Warsveteran Hayden Christensen.
On Monday, Amandla shared a video on her Instagram, capturing her initial reaction to Hayden’s congratulatory message to her. The whole thing was super sweet!
“I just wanted to send you a quick message to say congratulations,” Hayden said. “And I’m very excited for the show.”
“[I] wanted to wish you all the best and welcome you to ourStar Warsfamily. Hopefully, I’ll get to meet you soon, maybe at aStar Warscelebration or something.”
As soon as she pressed play on the message, Amandla could barely contain herself. From giddy screams to moments where she had to tell herself to “be cool,” Amandla was thrilled.
In fact, she was so overcome with emotion that her body began to shake!
