sound like it ’s over … for now , at least .

There’s a new update on the feud betweenTaylor Swiftand music industry mogulScooter Braun— and it sounds like it may have finally come to an end.

Brief recap because it’s been a minute: Way,wayback in 2019, Taylorposted on Tumblrabout how Scooter Braun’s acquisition of her old label Big Machine had enabled him to retain the masters rights to her first six albums in perpetuity.

At the time, Taylor referred to the situation as her “worst nightmare.” “This is my worst case scenario,” she wrote. “This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says ‘Music has value’, he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it.”

Since then, Taylor’s re-recorded and re-released almost every single one of those first six albums as part of her(Taylor’s Version)series in order to regain control of her recordings. The records have been loaded with bonus tracks, and their release has arguably been one of the biggest music stories of the 2020s thus far.

It’s inarguable that the(Taylor’s Version)releases have been a success. But there still remains a level of fascination around the conflict between Taylor and Scooter, as the recent release of the Max docuseriesTaylor Swiftvs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood suggests.

At one point, the documentary features a statement from Taylor’s team on where she stands with Scooter — and, despite the near-constant press coverage that the(Taylor’s Version)releases have received, it’s pretty much the first time she’s addressed the feud with Scooter in a minute.

“None of these men will ever be able to take anything away from Taylor’s legacy as a songwriter, singer, director, philanthropist and advocate for artists’ rights,” the statement reads.

“Taylor has completely moved on from this saga, and has turned what started out as an extremely painful situation into one of the most fulfilling endeavors of her life.”
