The trailer for the Netflix serial just dropped .
If there is one type of characterNicole Kidmanis going to excel at playing, it’s a rich woman with an enviable wardrobe who is at the center of a scandal. (To be clear, she’s brilliant at playing all sorts of characters. That’s why she’s an Oscar winner and five-time nominee.)
As you’ll recall, she won an Emmy for portraying a California woman battling abuse and grief in HBO’s whodunnitBig Little Lies.
She also played an Upper East Side therapist whose husband is accused of murder in HBO’s (other) whodunnitThe Undoing.
She, too, starred as a wellness guru shrouded in secrecy in Hulu’s mystery seriesNine Perfect Strangers.
Nicole is (thankfully) at it again as another stylish and affluent woman surrounded by controversy in the new Netflix series,The Perfect Couple, which is based on author Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name.
Even better, the trailer dropped on July 11, and the series looks so promising.
Bad Sisters' Eve Hewson stars as Amelia, a woman marrying into a wealthy Nantucket family.
Under the Banner of Heaven’s Billy Howle plays her fiancé Benji.
Nicole and Liev Schreiber play the groom’s high society parents, Greer and Tag Winbury.
WithThe White Lotus’s Meghann Fahy as Amelia’s best friend Merritt.

As the trailer makes clear, the show follows the Winbury family in wedding fervor when a dead body is found on the beach near their home.
