If you think actors aren’t aware of the hilarious — and sometimes obsessive — way fans ship their fictional on-screen relationships,Kerry Washingtonis proof of how wrong that notion is.
Despite the show ending in 2018,Scandalfanatics refuse to let go of the controversial yet enthralling relationship on the show between Kerry’s character and her costarTony Goldwyn’s character.
In the popular ABC series, Kerry starred as Olivia Pope, one of her most notable roles. She played a former media consultant-turned-“fixer” who falls in love with the country’s leader,President Fitzgerald Grant III (playfully known as Fitz). Although Fitz was married, the two couldn’t fight the undeniable chemistry between them.
Throughout those seven dramatic seasons, fans watched as the two committed adultery and made bad decision after bad decision, but somehow the theory of “the heart wants what the heart wants” overshadowed all of that. Viewers couldn’t get enough and eventually shipped the characters together, giving them the playful nickname Olitz.
It also probably didn’t help the fantasy aspect for fans when they realized Kerry and Tony were the best of friends off-screen as well, and still remain so to this day.

She took it one step further by hopping on one of TikTok’s latest trends: theBlack Wife Effect— a phrase meant to describe the drastic physical changes white men undergo when they marry or date a Black woman. The change is typically associated with an upgrade in their style and haircut choices.
Kerrysharedher own version of the TikTok to her personal Instagram account. Although she was really using it as a tactic to get people to vote, she knew exactly how to catch everyone’s attention with her content.
The “before” section of her TikTok was filled with images of Tony from early on in his acting career…
