In case you forgot,CommonandJennifer Hudsonhave been reportedly dating for around two years now.
I say “in case you forgot” because, for a couple of celebrities coupling up, they’re fairly low-key. They haven’t really talked about their relationship in the press at all, and most of their public appearances have been courtside at basketball games, which, goals.
The pair have been so slick with the discreetness that when Common appeared on Jennifer’s talk show at the top of this year to seemingly (andfinally) confirm their relationship, he did so without actually acknowledging that they’re in a relationship — despite the fact that the man gave her a damn bouquet of flowers when he walked out onstage.
“I’m in a relationship…with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” he said. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented…This relationship is a happy place for me. Seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. So, I’m very grateful. I thank God each and every day, and I’m just letting God guide this relationship.”
Common continued playing sorta coy about the subject when he appeared onTODAY With Hoda and Jennashortly after his appearance on Jennifer’s show, saying that he’s “very private” and that some “things are sacred” in his life.
“ We had a little fun , ” he also said about him and Jennifer ’s gambit on her show . “ I felt like , why not just be be intimate and honest with who I am and who we are . And it felt right , it was fun , we had a good time . ”
Since then, it’s been crickets — that is, untilPeoplecaught up with Jennifer at the DaytimeEmmy Awardsa few days ago, when she finally (anddirectly) acknowledged her relationship with Common.
“Everything is wonderful,” she said. “That’s all you need to know.”
It’s not crumbs, but it’s not nothing. Anyway, good for them!
