It ’s rough out there , folks .

Reddit userSugarAndSpice89asked the men of the community, “What’s yourworst date?”

They unfortunately had a whole lotta disastrous stories to tell, further proving that dating is an extreme sport. But do you know who else has beenthroughit when it comes to sex, love, and relationships? WOMEN.

Just like men, women didn’t hold anything back when Reddit usercheckmeowt904posed the samedating question.

So, here are some people who’ve been on horrendous dates and lived to tell the tale:

Note : Some submission include subject of domesticated abuse . Please proceed with caution .

1.“I went on a date with a man who I met through a dating app. I quickly found out that he lied about his age — he was actually 10 years older than me, and he was recently divorced. He then took me to a gentleman’s club 30 minutes away. He kept saying, ‘You’re like a sister [to me]’ on the way there while stroking my leg because of how ‘awesome I was’ to agree to go see strippers with him. After the show, he drove us back drunk and speeding in his convertible. He was messaging other women on the dating app at the same time. He ended the night by saying, ‘So I’ll be hearing from you again? Because I’m such a cool guy, and dates with me are the best.'”

2.“I went on a blind date with a coworker’s daughter (horrible idea — you should never do this). She wanted to go to a specific restaurant that was known to be a little ‘shady.’ I picked her up and immediately knew this was a terrible idea. She just came off really entitled and rude. We got to the restaurant, sat down, and ordered drinks. I had a beer, and she got a cocktail and almost immediately started flirting with an older man who was clearly intoxicated. She convinced him to buy us a round of drinks and then completely ignored him. I was shocked, but we continued the date. I stopped drinking because I needed to drive, but she continued and got a couple of more drinks before we finally left.”

" As I was driving her nursing home , I necessitate why she want to go to that restaurant specifically . Well , it turned out she was barely 19 , and they do n’t tease her there , seemingly ( this is in the US ) .

I was 22 at the clip and was under the impression that we were the same historic period . There was no second appointment , but I was able to save face with my coworker and learned a worthful example . "

3.“I was catfished (before the term was invented, we called it ‘Myspace angled’). It was my literal first-ever date. I met this girl on Myspace who lived 30 minutes from me and was going to go to the same tiny college I was going to in the fall. We clicked and decided to meet. I showed up at her place with flowers and was nicely dressed. I was met by her parents and sibling at the door. The father was in the military and grilling me. I was nervous and felt awkward. After 10 minutes, she finally came downstairs. She is dressed like she is going to prom and is the same woman in the pics, just about 100 pounds heavier. She gave me a quick hug, and gave me a printed picture of her. Besides being ‘Myspace angled’ and feeling obliged to take her out, she proceeded to tell me how our future lives were going to go. We would be the ‘it couple’ on campus, and then we’d marry after graduation. Again, this was my first date.”

" When I get home after the appointment , she texted and call in nonstop , desire to make out if I had made it home okay . I say I had , and I was going to seam .

The next day , I bulge to try out to fade out . She did n’t like that , and I blatantly say , ' I ’m sorry . I did n’t feel the spark . Besides , I think it would be best if we both look college single . ' She cried and necessitate a few more date . I declined .

tight fore a few weeks , and we have pre - freshman orientation in the summertime . I met a woman who was 100 % more my type there , and we sink in . We did long - distance .

Around this time the catfish started calling and bugging me . She say she find out I was dating someone else . She would n’t stop address , texting , and message me on AIM and Myspace . I had to block her .

College get , and she , of course , lived in my dorm ( so did the female child I was long - distance dating ) . We eventually broke up , and after we did , my catfish would ' run into me ' on campus . She create young AIM accounts all the time and message me about how she was dying of Crab , and her last wish was to log Z’s with me .

Eventually , she faded away , stopped badger me , and leave that college at the conclusion of the semester . "

The most ' enjoyable ' part of the date was when I responded , ' I do n’t know what you entail . Can you explicate ? ' while I watched him flounder for a reaction .

That ’s when I went into the bathroom to call someone to bail me out . I happened to get a earpiece call from my ex-husband , so I begged him to call me in 10 minutes , talk through one’s hat an hand brake with the kids . fortunately , by the time he called me , I had already extract myself .

A man and woman are sitting at a table in a restaurant, engaging in a serious conversation. The woman, holding a glass, appears to be making a point

When the neb came , I insisted on pay for my own food . He got exceedingly upset and literally debate with me . I was n’t lead to permit this guy rope have anything he thought he could hold over me . After he reluctantly let me pay for my own food , he stood up and practically yelled that he necessitate a cigarette . We went outside , and he proceeded to separate me that he was hold out to get junk by his Bos and coworkers .

I give thanks him for the appointment , practically ran for my machine , and blocked him . My ex called me to rescue me finally , and he and his wife express joy their ass off at me as I trace this horrible appointment in much better and clearer detail . "

5.“I was joking around that I was short (I’m 5'2”), and then he started to argue with me that I wasn’t as we got out of the car (he’s over 6 feet tall). He grabbed me, picked me up, slammed me on the parking lot, and held me down until I said I wasn’t short. I was so flabbergasted that I was speechless for several seconds. It was my first ever date (I was 16 at the time), and we had ridden in his car, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to do. We went into a Chick-fil-A, and after we sat down, he started talking about how he could force me to feel specific emotions using his mind and wouldn’t shut up about the old crush he had on a girl who used to be my friend."

" I rushed everything so he would take me rest home . On the way home , he take a uncanny twist down a route that lead to a dark spot cut across by a span . I tried to discreetly give the car doorway but found out it had tyke locks on , so I was adhere . He start to take his seat belt off and lean over .

Thankfully , a gondola showed up behind us , and he started rumble about it . He started the car back up and in conclusion took me place . The very next 24-hour interval , I buy the farm to schooling and warn my friends ( especially my ex-husband - friend ) , and I made certain never to see him again .

This bad date confuse me on how dates should go , but I knew it was n’t supposed to be like that . I did n’t particular date again until I was 20 , and gratefully , I ’ve pay back this guy for 15 years now , and we are both light , lol . "

6.“I went on a double date with my friend, his fiancé, and his fiancé’s maid of honor. I was the best man, so they wanted us to get to know each other. She had absolutely zero interest in anything I said. She didn’t want to talk to me about anything and wouldn’t even glance in my direction the whole night. So, things were a little awkward. The wedding day came, and we had to walk down the aisle together, which was awkward. The bridesmaids and the groomsmen wanted to dance side by side, one couple at a time, when introduced at the reception. She didn’t even dance down through the reception hall to the table. I looked like an idiot dancing into the reception while she just casually strolled with an annoyed look. Then she left the reception an hour later to go home…she was a lot of fun.”

7.“I had gone out with this guy a few times. He literally invited another girl to the same Halloween party he invited me to. Well, that girl and I got along famously and had a great time at the party. Then, he quickly started making out with a brand-new girl he’d just met. We decided to ditch him and called an Uber, and just as we were about to get away, the backseat door opened. And who should get in but this personality-less turdburger and his new girl to follow us to the dive bar! [X], if you see this, I’m still great friends with [X], and we both love to talk shit about you 😘.”

8.“I have two bad date stories. There was the gal I planned to take on a picnic lunch, but instead of riding up to the parkway, she kept asking if we could just ride back and forth on the same road in town. She wasn’t interested in me — she just wanted to ride past her ex’s house so he could see her on the back of a motorcycle with another guy.”

" The other sorry date was with a gal who brought a tot . I thought it was a appointment , consider we met on a go out site .

But she seemed to be only concerned in interviewing me as a babysitter . Like , she had zero interest in anything besides finding someone to watch her Thomas Kid .

9.“He was just a very awkward guy, which would’ve been fine if he didn’t act like an Uber driver. He came to pick me up, and when I went to get in the front seat, he said ‘no’ and made me sit in the back behind his seat. It was super weird. There was something about the way he did it that just made me feel deeply uncomfortable.”

10.“I met this girl on Tinder, was very chatty and flirty online, and arranged to meet for drinks and a meal. We met up, and she arrived 30 minutes late. The chatty and flirty person I’d been talking to just wasn’t there at all. She had short, curt answers and was CONSTANTLY on her phone. I felt like I was doing all the heavy lifting with the conversation. We sat at our table, and we were about to order, and she leaned over and said, ‘Oh, you got this right?’ I’m not averse to paying for a first date, but to have it put so bluntly pissed me off, considering how poor the conversation was. She proceeded to order the most expensive items on the menu and a large cocktail for herself, all the while I was trying to make conversation and get to know her. When she was on her phone, I peered over and saw what she was doing: She was on Tinder right in front of me, messaging other guys while on our first date.”

" I saw red — I reject to be treat like that by anyone . I excused myself to go the bathroom and surreptitiously whipped my cap off the back of my chair while going . I croak to our server and excuse what had happened , and he was like , ' Oh , man , I ’m sorry to hear that . '

I pay for my drink and tipped him for being so helpful , I canceled my order but told him to keep her order in place . He smiled and say , ' I know what you ’re doing … good fortune to you ! ' Then I leave .

15 minutes later , my phone was getting substance after message from her asking where the hell I was , that she had n’t her purse on her , etc . I blocked her , last off to a saloon and forebode a mate to meet me to rescue the night with beer and laughing over the billet . One of the bad , but in spades memorable dates . "

11.“A guy picked me up on his motorcycle to take me back to his place. He pulled up to a shed by the house so I could get off, and he could store the bike, right? Wrong. The shed was his room (this could already be a horror story, but we’re talking worst date — not near-death experience). He invited me in where there was only one place to sit: a recliner, which he sat in. The only other place to sit was his lap, which he alerted me to. I chose a crate instead. He shared his airplane bottle of mouthwash-flavored vodka with me and, within maybe 15 minutes, said I looked like I wanted him to kiss me.”

" What I want was to pee , so he call for me to the house on the property ( which was his mom ’s ) . She was look out TV on the lounge , and when I came out of the bathroom , he ushered me from the couch to seat and chat with his mum .

Shortly after that , I used our initial agreement to bespeak a ride back home . The next day , I texted something about sense we were incompatible and wishing him well . He said , ' Your going . ' "

12.“A friend fixed me up with her newly single cousin (it was a blind date). She claimed he’d be perfect for me. We met in a pub, and for nearly two hours, he talked about nothing but himself solidly. His life, job, workout routine, political opinion, and so on. He never asked me a single question and I couldn’t get a word in. Every time I tried to speak, he held his hand up to silence me. The last thing he said to me was, ‘Are we going back to your place or mine later?’ I was so annoyed and disgusted with his arrogance that I just said, ‘Excuse me?’ and walked out. I haven’t spoken to that friend since. I have no idea why she thought I would like a man like that. He was awful — this was quite a while ago, but it really turned me off.”

— uranium / curiousopenmind22

13.“She arrived stoned an hour late to the bar and decided to get her nails done five minutes before the date. She talked about her life and problems without pause for the entire hour we were out (she was a ‘daddy’s girl’ with an internship at his company. Her bills were paid by her father, and she had no real problems beyond not getting enough spending money from her dad to buy her a Cartier bracelet). I decided not to text her after the date. Three days later, she texted me saying I was a sexist piece of shit for not continuing the conversation.”

— u / maejaws

14.“A woman pulled out some research she’d done on me. She asked me why I had co-signed for a house with my sister. When I asked her why and how she had this information, she responded, ‘It’s public information if you pay a fee.’ There wasn’t another date after that.”

— u / Scherzoh

15.“He picked me up because my car was in the shop. When I went back to his place, he started slamming beers (I don’t drink). He made his move, and I told him I wasn’t feeling it. He punched a wall, told me his feelings were hurt, and then drove me home with an open beer can between his legs. I spent days scared he’d come back since he knew where I lived.”

— u / MMorrighan

16.“I was 19 and in the military. I matched with an 18-year-old online, and we planned a date. I didn’t have a car, but she was cool with picking me up and heading to dinner. For starters, she looks way different from her online photos. On the way, she tries to take me somewhere else to show me where she likes to smoke pot. I have to tell her multiple times I’m in the military and could get in serious trouble for pot, and I’d rather not be around it. She relents, and we go to dinner at Applebee’s. While there, she makes fun of my tattoos and hobbies, so overall, it’s not a good date so far.”

" Then she starts contract calls . She ignores the first couple and then answers . It turn out that while she was , in fact , 18 , she was still in in high spirits school and was bound off marching stria rehearsal . We fetch up run through ( she give , even though I offer to ) , and I judge to courteously tell her I had to get back to my base .

She starts to drive that way but then veers off row , takes me down some back road , and perpetrate over , saying something about being spontaneous . I then very sternly enjoin her to take me back to my fundament . It was a very awkward and subdued drive back . We did n’t say anything when I have out of the motorcar , and we did n’t tattle again after that . "

17.“This guy thought I was really nice and smart. I actually had fun until he told me I couldn’t go on ‘dressing like this.’ I needed to wear ‘more feminine clothes’ or else I wouldn’t be seen as attractive (let alone be loved). But we’d still end up in bed together, so he’d keep in contact. Spoiler alert: we did NOT keep in contact and sleep together.”

— u / Joubachi

18.“I went out with a guy a few times. One time, I went to his house, which was FULL of fleas (like a massive infestation). After I called it off, he showed up at my work to confront me about ‘being such a bitch.’ I was shocked, but not as shocked as I was when I woke up the next morning and saw he had slashed all four of my tires that night. I was on high alert for months after that. People are bananas.”

— uranium / OkLoss994

19.“I dated this woman after getting out of a serious relationship. I took her to a jazz club because I thought it’d be ‘sophisticated.’ It was louder than a schoolyard. The few times I could get in conversation, I talked about my ex. 10 years later, we’re married, but not to each other. Sorry for the awful date, [X]!”

— u / Rush_Clasic

20.“She hit me in the head with a metal bottle that was in her purse after I refused to continue the date. She showed up as a completely different person. The photos we exchanged pre-date were so real. It turned out she had a friend who was trying to help her get a boyfriend, so whenever I wanted a pic or something, she would ask her friend to do one (and she would, then she’d send it to me). This was in the Plenty of Fish era.”

— u / Wiltron

21.“First she didn’t feel like going out, then she insisted on going out (because she had a bad day, and ‘you’re fun’). She picked me up, and as we ate dinner shortly after, she confessed her bad day was because she asked out a coworker and he rejected her and told everyone else, so she has to quit now. I asked for the check immediately (I actually gave the waiter my card first to move it along faster — he saw it on my face and obliged). She was dropping me off at my place, she started ranting about how I probably hated her, told me to call her a bitch (I didn’t), then looked at me laughing and said, ‘You think I’m gonna do something craazzyyy?!’ and took her hands off the wheel. At that moment, the light up ahead turned red, I jumped out, slammed the door, and walked home.”

— u / DopeCharma

22.And finally, “I matched with a guy who lived four hours away, so we agreed to meet halfway, have a date, stay in that town overnight, then head home the next day. Now I’m very, very honest with my online pics and info. As soon as I stepped out of my car, he looked me up and down, frowned, and quietly said, ‘Noooo.’ The dude was far from an oil painting himself. We talked awkwardly for a bit and decided to get some food. It turned out to be a pretty dead down, and there was only a Subway open. So we ate at Subway. He had about as much of a personality as a wet sock. Then he asked if we could go look in some ‘geeky’ store, so we went. He then proceeded to flirt with a girl working there and told me how hot she was.”

" Then we went to see a motion-picture show to kill time at a tiny cinema . After that , he told me , ' I ’m sorry , I ’ve got to go . I have to mow my lawn tomorrow . ' I could n’t even be bothered appease and drove an hr to my friend ’s family overnight . He was a huge tug , and I regret making the effort . "
