While Meals on Wheels is known for delivering food to older people, it provides a lot more than that. For those who are lonely, it can provide a very important source of connection and community.
Another way that Meals on Wheels America — the leadership organization that supports the 5,000+ community Meals on Wheels programs nationwide — is helping older folks is with the#RespectYourElders challenge. The aim is to inspire people to connect with older people in their communities or do any act of kindness, then post about it on social media to encourage others to do the same.
